| | | | Jill lives in Loughborough. She was a painter earlier on in her career and from 1984 onwards has had various exhibitions of her watercolours and drawings. She gained a National Diploma in Art & Design at Loughboroug College of Art and Design in 1990 and the following year became a part-time tutor of art and drawing at the South Nottingham College, together with paper sculpture workshops. She is a member of Paperweight, a group of artists who work in paper. Jill has exhibited widely in the UK. She works using a scalpel and any paper that holds curves well. Her inspiration is usually observed behaviour and a touch of humour is important to her design. 3D construction is a vital element of her work. Her starting point is usually a rough sketch or list of ideas and the piece grows as she builds it up and develop the original concept. |
